Why does my wireless connection keep disconnecting?

My connection gets messed up and disconnects about twice-every five minutes. i have some anti-spyware, and they say I don't have a virus (I have Spy-Bot and Yahoo Online Protection), but my connection's always messed up and when it isn't disconnected it averages about six mpbs.

If you are getting good signal strength normally then it is likely a software issue.

Check the website of your computer manufacture to see if they have a newer version of the wireless driver. If you installed your wifi adaptor yourself then check the site of the company that makes the adaptor.

Another thing to check is the website of the router manufacturer. See if they have a firmware upgrade for the router.

I had the same problem, which was rectified when I was given a new wireless router to try...I know its a pain, but it may be worth considering.
my friend try the following.disconnect every phone in your house and attach the modem-router directly at the line but before this check out the downstream line Attenuation ,the lower the value the better.then check it again after disconnecting the devices at your place.another reason maybe a wrong connection at your splitter.also ask your provider to do the correct configurations in your router.
Any other wireless comunications are running near the access point ex:- Cordless Phone, A/c etc... remove your AP and try to connect some other location you will get the solution on that...
make sure you don't have any thing magnetic near your

wireless router or modem.

that can cause interference.
