Does erratic computer behaviour indicate a virus?

On at least 3 occasions over the last week or so, my computer has done things I didn't make it do. On at least two occasions files have opened (1 in Word %26 1 In Adobe Reader) which I had used on previous days, but while I was on the web. I didn't open them. Then Saturday, after cleaning out my computer because it wouldn't turn on, it just shut down %26 restarted just after booting up %26 populating my desktop %26 menu bars. I have SBC/Yahoo! anti-spy %26 anti-virus, and McAfee anti-virus %26 firewall. I scan nearly every day with one or the other %26 so far have had no problem files. I also delete cookies. I read somewhere that erratic behaviour could indicate a tracking virus. Is this true? If so, how can I kill it? I maintain a lot of my credit %26 bank accounts on-line %26 need protection.

I got rid of the same thing on mine yesterday with this answer from a kind person :

add/remove doesn't work.

I fixed mine with this answer:

Get superantispyware Free Edition...its the best for spyware and malware...

then get Avast! Home Edition (is free) for anitvirus and run the scans and you should be fine

It works, it's as easy as 1-2-3 (even I could do it ) and is 100% free
