Can anyone help?

I'm no whizz regarding the technical side of computers,but when I'm on sites such as yahoo answers for example,after about an hour or so,I lose the site and a sign comes up at the very top of the screen saying "cannot find server" Havn't a clue what that means or why it happens!

In order for me to go on to any site after this has occured,including checking emails and even my home page,I either have to reboot or restart my pc and start from scratch.

Yet I still have an internet connection after this problem occurs,and I do have anti-virus protection installed which updates and runs scans daily!

Any help would be much appreciated,

Hi tinyfeet, listen in this case when this happens there are 2 possibilities one of them for sure is the problem :

1- this problem from the Modem or the router, sometimes the software of the modem or the router get damaged and I dont mean by the software , the software that u install it from the CD, No, Its the software of the modem it self from inside.

any way in this case if u can tell me ur modem Model (linksys or Speedtouch or netgear or whatever the model)

2- a problem from the DSL, I mean a problem from the ISP (Internet Service Provider) so in this case u should call them and tell them about the problem that u r having and they will check the connection for U, if there is a problem from their connection they will fix it from their side
