Antivirus = protection?

I have a new laptop and I am considering an Anti Virus. But some people have told me that anti virus is not necessary unless Im connected to a network, or unless I am downloading music etc. Also that Windows atomatic updates keep your computer relatively safe and clean too?

If you use the internet at ALL, I would get some Anti Virus software. There are lots of free ones such as AVG. I use AVG %26 Ad-Aware, both free and protect the PC fine. If you are buying them, I like Windows Live One Care and its only about $30 for full protection.

No Anti Virus is Must and Should For Any PC Because Viruses are spreading with rapid speed so it is better for you Install a Anti virus quickly before your PC gets effected by virus.. I prefer AVG anti Virus

do you use windows?

is the internet cable plugged in?

is the machine turned on?

if all 3 are yes, you need an antivirus.

the other os's still have viruses but they ain't common enough to worry about, YET
