Good laptop and printer needed for new college student?vincent
It all depends on how much you want to spend.
I like all Sony Vaio's. I dont like Lexmark printers... but they are cheap!
Give me a price range and I can give you some best choices. Also, do you want ultra-portable and light weight, or more of a desktop replacement, which is heavy, but very powerful?

you should check out this site where you can get a sony vaio laptop for free
The first thing is what you need? if you need a computer to surf the web download some music, MS office media player and daily work go for a HP, Sony Vaio is excellent but too expensive, so you can go for a HP that is a decent notebook, has a nice price and the most important will do the job.
Other thing is don麓t buy the latest technology because it changes faster than you can imagine so go for something that fill your needs (for example : Intel is much better than AMD but for daily works is almost the same between this to type of processors and you will save a few hundreds bucks that you can spend in memory). About the multifunction (printer, copy and fax) you can get a great deal at bestbuy or circuit city.

if you want a vaio, thats fine. But there are many other laptop brands out there that are much cheaper. Some great brands for starting college are asus, and even hp has some good ones. But as for finding them cheaply, newegg.com. Its the greatest
Lenmark is a good printer. Another good one is hp. And for antivirus, norton is the best if you are willing to spend a reasonable amount of money.
