Is Limewire Really Safe?

I've recently had to give up my old computer because of LimeWire. I had no virus protection whatsoever, and so you know the story I got a virus blah, blah, blah and it was either fix my old 2001 Compaq computer for $300 that I myself had never updated anything because of lazyness, or just buy a new one and take good care of it.Now that have I purchased a new computer I'm thinking of downloading LimeWire because I miss my music. I do have anti-virus now, but im still wondering.

Well it depends on what stuff you are downloading on limewire. If you are just downloading music then yeah...its pretty safe but if ur downloading programs then most of the time it is safe. However if u download a program and you open the compressed folder and the program just says Setup.exe, then its a virus for sure. Limewire has a lot of those so watch out.

FYI... If you look up free limewire pro on google you will get to download limewire pro for free if you look around its pretty neat.

It wasn't Limewire that was the problem, it was something you downloaded that had a virus or some other malicious software attached to it. Now you have a virus checker you should be OK.
Do some research on bit torrenting. It's generally safer than P2P.
i think its safe i ahd it for 2 years now and it didnt give me ant problems
I use Limewire and I do have an anti-virus and anti spy, haven't have any problem. I will think you'll be OK. If you gonna use it and then get a virus do not get rid of you PC, what you need to do is safe what you need and erase everything and reinstall your Windows program and start all over again. That is how I do it, instead of paying someone that going to fix it the same way. Good Luck!
only way to be safe is to keep your virus scan updated on a regular basis and always keep your virus on when you're connected to the internet
