How do i get rid of all the stupid pop-ads from vista?

i just got my new laptop and it keeps popping up stupid RANDOM ads from internet explorer and it builds up. i use the internet explore block feature as well as norton anti virus system protection. nothing works. help!

those pop-ups are called adware, and it's not internet explorer's fault. anti virus can't stop adware because it's not a virus. you need an anti spyware to remove that thing. i recommend spyware doctor: http://www.2-spyware.com/review-spyware-...

Vista needs about 50 to 60 Windows Updates before operating properly. Make sure you have Automatic Updates set. I have a new Vista Home Premium and it is set right out of the box to protect with the firewall activated and Windows Defender antispyware (free from Microsoft, good program). Generally, continual pop ups in Internet Explorer is a sign of adware. Windows Defender is the only free program with real time protection (activated in paid subscri[ption security software). It has active shields protecting all parts of the system areas. It would be a rare event that adware installed past their active shields. It is more likely you downloaded some software that was bundled with adware and perhaps even other malware like spyware.
